The Indiana Association of School Principles, Department of Student Programs, is pleased to announce its 8th annual art contest for students grades K-12.
Art mediums include:
Photography: Digital or film, color or black and white
Painting: oil, acrylic, or watercolor
Drawing: charcoial, pen and ink, pencil, marker or crayon
With each artwork entry, students must write a 100 woord narrative explaining the role that arts play in his/her life.
Entries can be no larger than 8 1/2 inches by 13 1/2 inches. Only 2-dimensional artworks can be considered in judging process for display at Riley Hospital. Be sure to package carefully to ensure no damage in mailing. Submitted artwork becomes the property of IASP as a non-exclusive image. Entry in the contest constitutes permission for IASP to use the artwork for publication and display. Non-winning entries may be picked up at our office or returned if stamped, self-addressed packaging is sent with entry.
Deadline for entry is Dec. 19, 2009. All reasonable care will be taken in handling entries. IASP cannot be held responsible for damage to, or loss of, artwork.
All artwork will be judged anonymously by DSP Advisory Board members and volunteer art instrcutors. Artwork and entry forms will be numbered upon receipt. Judging will be based on subject, creativity, and narrative.
Limit 2 entries per person.
Winners will be announced by March 20,2010.
-18 “Art for Riley” designess: Six students at each level will have their entries displayed at Riley Hospital for Children thorugh our annual Art for Riley initiative.
-12 IASP Office Selections: Four students at each level will have their artwork displayed at the IASP Conference Center for all IASP members, sponsors, contest entrants and guests to enjoy.
