Installations by Third Grade

The most talked about artwork in RPE right now is the third grade installations made by Mrs. Ponchot’s and Mrs. Daeger’s classes.  After brainstorming ideas, voting on a final concept and gathering materials, students worked as a team to complete the final works you see below.

Straw Cloud is the work of Mrs. Ponchot’s class.  They used straws and a little bit of scotch tape here and there for support, to make this “floating” tangled mass of straws.  In the bottom of the picture, you see Giant Yarn Balls.  Mrs. Daeger’s class figured out how to wrap these giant exercise balls with yarn to turn into giant works of art.

Both classes hoped that passers-by would become curious about what the work was and how it was made.

They’ve accomplished their goal because so many have been asking about Straw Cloud and Giant Yarn Balls!
