Finishing Up in Fourth Grade

Fourth grade is finishing up the painting process on their non-objective, Delaunay-inspired paintings.  Students are focusing on controlling the paint for hard (clean and precise) edges.  The project has really challenged students to follow directions carefully, and we’ve had a few review sessions to keep the knowledge and steps fresh in their head.  Their job- to show me that they can find an example of each color scheme by using those colors in a section on their painting.   Here are a few students at work:

And before I forget, a big shout out to all 3rd and 4th grade classes who have done an OUTSTANDING job of taking care of our room and supplies during painting times!

Here is Brianna working on section 1, complementary colors.  Look at that control!

Here is Mackenzie using tints of blue and orange to complete her complementary color section.

Megan has completed her first section and is working on her second, showing the split-complementary color scheme using red, yellow-green, and blue-green.
