Third Grade…in 3D

Third graders pumped up their drawing a bit by learning how to draw some of the basic geometric solids.  We practiced drawing cubes, rectangular prisms, cones, spheres and pyramids.  Then, we tried out some other drawing techniques using activities from Mark Kistler.  After practicing using these forms and techniques in different ways, students created their own “land” to show what they had learned to do.  Students were required to use all 5 forms, show stacking, connections, overlapping, holes, tunnels, horizon line, and near and far in their work.  Which would you like to visit?
